Happy International Women’s Day!
Meryl Streep has officially run out of fucks to give.
“To the people clinging to the notion that female-led pictures are a niche genre, people see them! They make money! The world is round, people!” - Cate Blanchett
It was a fall day in October. Describing the weather as chilly would be forgiving, but in a Midwestern state, people were used to making such allowances. The plan for the day was deceivingly simple ‘decide what you want to be’. As a high school senior beginning college, there was no place in an application for indecision. Especially when coveted scholarships could depend on it. Having a life long dream was important. So a search for a dream began.
In deciding what one would potentially do, many questions needed to be answered. ‘Any special abilities?’ Unfortunately no. ‘Aptitude for one particular subject?’ Not especially. ‘Do you have any skills?’ Does sarcasm count? Finally, the most important question (or possibly the least depending on the social circle). ‘What do you like?’ Well, there it was. In childhood, imagining an adult life is a thing of fantasy. In adolescence the dream must change to fit the expectations of childhood. Rich and famous? Maybe just rich. Movie star? Maybe just a movie editor or something movie related. But then the moment when realization occurs. Maybe what I like won’t get me a lot of money.
“I really like working with kids.”
Couldn’t Spike, like, swallow the gem of Amara before going to a fight with Buffy?
I always think this. Spike got in his own way a lot. Bragging and impatience. An ego will bring you down every time.
Jordan Catalano is an oscar winning actor. Whoa.
